If It Should Be

If it should be that I grow weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand;
Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years -
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
The time has come, so let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
And please stay with me until the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve - it must be you
Who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years -
Don't let your heart hold back its tears.

A very special gift that I love so much.
Thank you Renee and Angel Misty!

You can't buy loyalty, they say
I bought it though, the other day;
You can't buy friendship, tried and true,
But just the same, I bought that too.

I made my bid, and on the spot
Bought love and faith and a whole job lot
Of happiness, so all in all
The purchase price was pretty small.

I bought a single trusting heart,
That gave devotion from the start
If you think these things are not for sale,
Buy a brown-eyed puppy with a wagging tail.

This Old Cat

I'm getting on in years
my coat is turning grey.
My eyes have lost their luster
my hearing is just okay.

I spend my whole day dreaming
of conquests in the past.
Lying near a sunny window
waiting for its warm repast.

I remember our first visit
I was coming to you free
Hoping you would take me in
and keep me company.

I wasn't young or handsome
two years I'd roamed the streets
There were scars upon myface
I hobbled on my feet.

I could sense your disappointment
as I left my prison cage
Oh, I hoped you would accept me
and look beyond my age.

You took me without pity
I accepted without shame
Then you grew to love me
and I admit the same.

I have shared with you your laughter
you have wet my fur with tears,
We've come to know each other
throughout these many years.

Just one more hug this morning
before you drive away
And know I'll think about you
throughout your busy day.

The time we've left together
is a treasured time at that,
My heart is yours forever
I promise...........this old cat.

My Love for my dogs

I love my dogs
This is their home
From which I hope
They'll never roam.
They're faithful friends
I love them best
This is their home
You are a guest.
If dogs to you
Are just a peeve
Then by all means
Feel free to leave!

What is a Pet?

A pet is such a special friend,
A friend in many ways.
Sharing love and companionship,
Just looking for your praise.
The clever things they often do
Bring a smile to your face;
And so to them I dedicate,
This small but special place.

NEWSPAPERS

If you have to go pee while playing in the frontyard,
always use the newspaper that's placed in the
driveway every morning just for that purpose.

The animals' voices are silent
But their cries can be heard
if you care enough to listen

~Gerry Brehm~

DOGS ARE FROM VENUS......CATS ARE FROM HELL

Dogs often think they ARE people.
Cats often think people are big, stupid cats with food.

Dogs, if they could speak, would call you "master."
Cats, if they could speak, would call you by your first name.

Walking a dog means healthy exercise with a faithful companion.
Walking a cat means dragging a screaming, strangling
animal down the street.

Mail carriers have nightmares about dogs.
Christmas tree ornament makers have nightmares about cats.

Miniature dogs are excellent indoor pets.
There's no such thing as an angry, yapping little cat.

Dogs are faithful companions wherever you go.
Cats are faithful companions, as long as you plan to stay home,
on the couch.

A dog will knock things over with its tail.
A cat will knock things over with sudden, crazed leaps.

Dogs often come to man's rescue.
Cats just hope their new owner is richer.

A dog dreams about chasing rabbits.
A cat dreams about taking naps.

A dog will come when you call its name.
A cat will come when you call its name, only if its name is
the sound made by a can opener.

Dogs drink out of your toilet.
Cats drink out of your aquarium, right after devouring your
$300 angelfish.

Dogs sleep in the middle of your bed.
Cats sleep in the middle of your newspaper.

Dogs play with old socks.
Cats play with new pantyhose.

A dog will bark and frighten away burglars.
A cat will throw up in the chair where a burgular sat down.

Retired fire dogs will wag their tails when they hear the siren.
There's no way to tell when a cat retires.

Dogs think they're better than cats.
Cats know they're better than dogs.

Dogs fetch.
Cats retch.

Until one has loved an animal
a part of one's soul remains unawakened

In Memory of Misty at Rainbow Bridge
DOG'S LAWS

If I like it, it's mine

If it's in my mouth, it's mine

If I can take it from you, it's mine

If I had it a little while ago, it's mine
If it's mine,
it must never appear to be yours in any way.
If I'm chewing something up,
all the pieces are mine

If it just looks like mine, it's mine

If I saw it first, it's mine
If you are playing with something
and you put it down
it automatically becomes mine

If it's broken, it's yours

They say memories are golden,
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories.
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
you never would have died.

In live I loved you dearly.
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway,
and heartache make a lane,
I´d walk the path to heaven,
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothin seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Auther unknown
I got to the Gate of Heaven
after we said goodbye
I began to miss you terribly,
because I heard you cry.
Suddenly there was an angel
that asked me to enter the Gate
I asked her if I could stay outside
for someone who'd be late.
I wouldn't make much noise
you see.

I wouldn't bark or howl..
I'll only wait here patiently
and play with my tennis ball.
The Angel said I could stay right
here and wait for you to come
So I'll wait here...you take your time,
'cause we can't be apart...
Because Heaven just wouldn't
be Heaven
without you to warm my heart.

THE LAST BATTLE

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
then will you do what must be done?
For this.... the last battle can't be won.

You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand.
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so,
When the time comes, please let me go.
Take we where my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me until the end.
And hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree,
It is a kindness you do for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do.
We've been so close for all those years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears

THE DOG'S COMMANDMENTS

I live for about 15 years.
Every time you leave me,
it means grief to me.
Give me time to understand
what you demand of me.
Make me happy, you are my entire life.
Don't be angry with me for long,
and don't lock me in as punishment.
You have your work, your friends,
your hobbies.
I've only got you.
Talk to me even though I do';t understand
the words, it makes me happy
just to hear your voice.
Remember I can never forget
how you treat me.
Before you hit me, remember that my
teeth can crush your hand,
but I don't use my
strength against you.
When you become irritated with me
because you have too many
things to do, consider that I might
be sick, have stomach-ache,
am tired, ordownhearted.
Take care of me when I'm old,
remember, you'll be old too.
Be with me
when I'm going through difficulties,
everything is easier
as long as I have you.

I Love You!
Your Dog
HUNDENS BUDORD

Jag lever i ingefär 15år.
Varje gång du lämnar mig,
betyder sorg for mig.

Our Lil Buddy

Tonight.. we put our baby down to sleep
it is with sadness that we weep

Nomor hurt..no more pain
No getting caught out in the rain

Unconditional love you gave
Allways there and well behaved

We miss you and we love you so
Our hearts break bur you had to go

Selfishly we bid you stay
At least for just one more day

Sinshine now is all you´ll see
Running free and painlessly

I´ll love you .. now run along and play
We will be together again some day

A DOG'S PLEA

Threat me kindly my beloved friend, for no heart in all the
world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I might lick
your hand between blows, your patience and understanding
will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music,
as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your
footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, for I am a
domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to bitter elements.
I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet
beside the hearth. Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for I
cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.

Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play
and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stay ready,
willing and able to protect you with my life should your life
be in danger.

And my friend, when I am very old, and no longer enjoy good
health, hearing and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep
me going. I am not having fun. Please see that my trusting
life is taken gently, I shall leave this earth knowing with the
last breath I draw that my fate was always safest in your hands.

HOW MANY DOGS DOES IT TAKE
TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB??

GOLDEN RETRIEVER:
The sun is shining, the day is young,
we've got our whole lives ahead of us,
and you're inside worrying about a
stupid burned out bulb?

BORDER COLLIE:
Just one.
And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

DACHSHUND:
You know I can't reach that stupid bulb.

ROTTWEILER:
Make me.

LAB:
Oh, me, me!! Pleeeeze let me change the light bulb!
Can I? Huh? Huh? Can I? Can I? Pleeeeze!

MALAMUTE:
Let the Border Collie do it.
You can feed me while he's busy.

JACK RUSSELL:
I'll just pop it in,
while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture.

POODLE:
I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it.
By the time he finishes rewiring the house,
my nails will be dry.

COCKER SPANIEL:
Why change it? I can pee on the carpet in the dark.

DOBERMAN:
While it's dark, I'm going to sleep on the sofa.

BOXER:
Who cares? I can play with my squeaky toys in the dark...

MASTIFF:
Mastiffs are NOT afraid of the dark.

CHIHUAHUA:
Yo, quiero Taco Bulb?

IRISH WOLFHOUND:
Can somebody else do it? I've got this hangover and....

POINTER:
I see it. There it is! There it is! Right there!!

GREYHOUND:
It isn't moving. Who cares?

AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD:
First I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle...

OLD ENGLISH SHEEP DOG:
Light bulb? That thing I just ate was a light bulb???

HOUND DOG:
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

CAT:
Dogs do not change light bulbs.
People change light bulbs and I am not one of THEM.
So, the question is,
how long will it be before I get some light in here?
Do I even care if there is light in here?
